The Quality Head – Arakkonam is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing all Quality function activities at FLSmidth – Arakkonam Manufacturing Location. plays a key role in managing customer complaints, ensuring quality compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position is responsible for tracking and analyzing non-conformance reports (NCRs), implementing corrective actions, and enhancing customer satisfaction. The role requires strong collaboration with internal teams. This role requires a strategic mindset combined with strong execution abilities to scale operations as per requirements.

FLS is mainly working for Mining vertical. Going forward, some of the products may be moved from other countries to India and it may need to expand the technical and manufacturing capacities in existing plants.
Your responsibilities

Ensures quality control processes and inspections are done according to best practices or performs surveillance of deliveries from suppliers or in-house manufacturing to meet set quality standards
Claims & NCR Management
Support teams in registering and managing NCRs in Intelex, providing training as needed.
Enter customer claims into Intelex, as communicated by the warranty and customer performance teams.
Ensure adherence to the Claims Handling Process (CCF), from NCR registration to claim resolution.
Conduct weekly follow-ups on NCR status and provide early warnings for delays.
Act as the key contact for customer complaint handling and service improvement initiatives.
Provide updates and reports to commercial teams on customer complaints and resolution progress.
Technical & Product Knowledge
Understanding of foundry casting production process and service life cycles.
Familiarity with components and spare parts for industrial mining products such as pumps,, cyclones, and valves.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze NCR data to identify trends, severity, and impact, recommending corrective actions.
Monitor and report on Customer Experience Program (CXP) evaluations.
Maintain and track key quality and customer satisfaction KPIs.
Quality Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodology.
Drive quality initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
What you bring

Proven experience working in Leading Steel foundry or similar industry as Quality head.
Full time Engineering degree (Mechanical or Metallurgy preferably) by qualification with 15 years and above experience
Strong knowledge of production processes, quality management systems, and regulatory requirements in a leading foundry.
Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams, drive performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Understanding and driving spirit to implement benchmarked operations metrices on SQDCME principles
Hand-on experience on Production management system and Centre of Excellence
Techno-Commercial experience and mindset,
Familiarity with Matrix organization and reporting structure
International & multi-stakeholders management exposure
