Position Overview

HyperStrong International USA Corp is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to serve as the primary quality presence for BESS project delivery across the US Region. Reporting to the Director of Service, Americas, this is a hands-on individual contributor role responsible for implementing and maintaining quality programs, conducting field inspections, and driving resolution of quality issues at the project level. This role is well-suited for a technically strong, highly organized professional with a background in the electrical trades and a passion for getting it right in the field. As the quality function grows, there is a clear path for increased responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain quality programs, inspection procedures, and checklists for BESS project delivery across the US Region in alignment with direction from leadership.
  • Evaluate and recommend quality management tools and systems to support inspection tracking, NCR management, and reporting as the quality function matures.
  • Conduct field inspections during equipment delivery and pre-commissioning to verify workmanship quality, identify deficiencies, and ensure compliance with HyperStrong standards and project specifications; presence post-delivery is on an as-needed basis when issues warrant direct involvement.
  • Hold EPC contractors and subcontractors accountable to HyperStrong quality standards during Delivery, Installation, Commissioning, and Operations; document and escalate non-conformances promptly.
  • Identify quality issues in the field and drive timely resolution; raise non-conformance reports (NCRs), manage punch lists, track corrective actions, and follow through to closure with thorough photo and written documentation.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes for quality issues; apply structured methodologies such as 8D reporting to investigate failures, identify systemic patterns, and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate and organized quality records, including inspection reports, NCRs, CAPA logs, failure mode tracking, and lessons-learned documentation across all active projects.
  • Collaborate with Commissioning and Field Service teams to ensure consistent application of quality standards across all active projects; receive and process field quality reports from the Service team post-delivery, documenting issues, tracking corrective actions, and driving resolution with the appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
  • Escalate quality findings and trends to leadership; provide regular reporting on inspection outcomes, open corrective actions, failure mode trends, and quality metrics.
  • Meet regularly with HQ Manufacturing to collaboratively solve design and quality issues identified in the field.
  • Ensure all quality activities are conducted in full compliance with safety regulations, HyperStrong standards, and applicable codes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a related field within the energy storage, power systems, or construction industry.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing quality programs and writing inspection procedures, checklists, and standards in a field environment.
  • Background in the electrical trades is required; must have the technical foundation to understand BESS equipment, evaluate installation quality, and identify poor workmanship in the field.
  • Hands-on field inspection experience, including delivery inspections, installation quality verification, and pre-commissioning checks.
  • Proven experience leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and CAPA processes; familiarity with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D reporting is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing NCRs, punch lists, and corrective action tracking across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, track open issues, and drive corrective actions to resolution independently.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and installation drawings.
  • Experience working with international manufacturing teams to resolve quality and design issues; comfort navigating cross-cultural and cross-time-zone communication.
  • Clear and concise written communication skills; ability to produce professional inspection reports, 8D reports, and quality documentation.
