Overview
This individual is responsible for performing periodic quality inspections of products or components according to established standards and the documentation of the results of those inspections. He/she is also responsible for assisting with instrument tests on First Piece, In-process, and/or incoming test specimens and the documentation of results as requested by the Quality Control Supervisor.

Duties

1. Performs First Piece and In-Process inspections according to established procedures.

2. For each job required; references inspection standard, sets-up appropriate report forms, and performs and records results of hourly inspections according to procedures.

3. Immediately informs the Quality Control Supervisor and Production Manager of any out of compliance condition, and then takes action in accordance with existing procedure(s).

4. Routinely circulates throughout the plant to observe each ongoing operation, personally inspecting parts produced within the past hour. Each part is evaluated by attribute against established standards, and the findings are neatly and accurately recorded in the designated sections of the First Piece Inspection Report and In-Process Inspection Report.

5. Responsible for accessing blank forms and completing an appropriate quantity of them that will be necessary for the recording of quality data on additional production of jobs/operations; through job completion.

6. Responsible for operating test equipment (i.e. Haug Pack-Vac Immersion tank, tensile tester, leak and burst strength testers, etc.) when requested.

7. Responsible for assisting with the performance of Incoming Inspections in accordance with established procedures, as requested.

8. During inspection rounds, in addition to the actual inspection of parts, also monitors the conditions of job set-ups, Teflon condition, safety hazards, etc., and mentions deficiencies noticed to the Production Supervisor.

9. May be asked to perform other duties and/or assist with other inspection activities that may at times become necessary to ensure the well-being of the company.

Experience

Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
Knowledge of quality management systems and methodologies is essential.
Ability to interpret specifications and exercise rapid judgment when scrutinizing product against specification.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
Ability to be on feet all day moving through plant from workstation to workstation.

Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
