Job Description:
Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace’s Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Tested, proven and trusted in commercial and military applications for decades, MFCD provides precise position-control actuation solutions for military aircraft across the United States and with foreign partners.
Responsibilities:
Assesses quality performance (or cost-of-quality) using statistical and analytical methods.
Develops and establishes advanced quality systems and procedures, inspection plans, quality performance trends, and technical quality plans for proposals.
Assesses the cost of products or materials that do not meet required standards by performing difficult statistical analyses.
Provides input on quality to product development teams; recommends producibility improvements.
Identifies quality performance trends and corrective actions by coordinating with customers and suppliers.
Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and conducts quality assurance tests.
Develops sampling plans and inspections by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
Develops statistical process controls by applying and maintaining applicable control charts.
Prepares comprehensive reports by collecting, interpreting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
Acts as a member of the Material Review Board and participates in failure analysis and corrective action investigations.
Refines and enhances products and processes by applying continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
Represents the company by interfacing with customers and regulatory agencies.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
May provide leadership to others in the department.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through four or more years of related experience.
American Society for Quality certification desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of inspection and quality engineering techniques, procedures, instruments, and general business operations.
Knowledge of aerospace industry products and related legal and regulatory requirements.
Ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement techniques.
Ability to solve complex problems and evaluate alternative solutions.
Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen or lawful permanent resident.
