Overview:
The IVF Lab Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the laboratory team by handling administrative tasks, coordinating procedures, and assisting senior embryologists with day-to-day operations. This position ensures smooth workflow in the IVF lab by managing paperwork, scheduling, and providing essential support during retrievals and other procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Paperwork & Documentation:
Prepare, organize, and maintain all lab-related documents, including patient records, consent forms, and procedure logs.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines (e.g., CAP, CLIA, FDA) in all documentation.
Assist in tracking and updating laboratory protocols, SOPs, and patient treatment records.
Coordination & Communication:
Act as a liaison between the lab, clinical team, and coordinators to facilitate seamless patient care.
Schedule and track upcoming retrievals, transfers, and other lab procedures.
Communicate lab-related updates to the appropriate staff members and ensure all necessary preparations are completed.
Retrieval & Procedure Support:
Assist in preparing for oocyte retrievals, including setting up necessary paperwork and coordinating logistics.
Ensure proper labeling and tracking of patient specimens to maintain accuracy and integrity.
Support senior embryologists in handling and processing specimens while adhering to lab protocols and safety guidelines.
Lab Assistance & Maintenance:
Maintain stock of lab supplies and ensure all necessary materials are available for daily procedures.
Help organize and maintain a clean and efficient work environment in compliance with lab safety regulations.
Assist in quality control tasks, including documentation checks and equipment monitoring.
Qualifications & Skills:
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and prioritize workload efficiently.
Effective communication and coordination skills to collaborate with various departments.
Basic understanding of laboratory procedures (prior experience in an IVF lab is a plus).
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
This role is essential for ensuring the IVF lab runs efficiently and that patients receive the highest quality care through well-coordinated processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
