Position: Senior Quality Inspector (Source Inspector)
Job Overview The Senior Quality Inspector utilizes best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to enhance the inspection discipline within McDermott. They serve as a resource for colleagues with less experience, sharing their expertise related to the inspection discipline. The Senior Quality Inspector addresses complex problems and applies discipline-specific knowledge to improve products or services. They influence customer, operational, project, or service activities with the inspection team and other related teams, ensuring adherence to guidelines and policies.
Qualifications Senior high school diploma or degree in a related field
10+ years of experience in
Quality Control
or a related discipline
Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook#LI-JG2
Responsibilities Supervise
Quality Control
activities to verify product conformity to customer specifications through independent inspections and tests as per the Project Quality Plan Identify non-conformities and ensure their resolution
Lead, supervise, and participate in inspection activities to maintain product quality
Consult with the Project Quality Manager on
prevention
and assessment resources, and evaluate the effectiveness of the Project Quality Plan and Procedures Initiate evaluations for non-conforming items
Develop Project Quality Plans, inspection, and test plans in
collaboration
with the Project Quality Manager Coordinate with QC/NDT/Certification/Welding Engineering and customers to address and resolve quality issues
Assess product quality based on the Project Quality Plan, Inspection & Test Plan, determining conformity or non-conformity
Interpret applicable code specifications and customer requirements; document deviations, clarifications, and waivers through the Site Query System Coordinate interfaces with Operations, Certifying Authority, Clients, and subcontractors to ensure conformity to project specifications
Verify QC inspector effectiveness through random audits of CIRsProactively prevent problems by collaborating with production, engineers, and management
Engage with customer representatives to ensure product conformity and stage releases as per the Project Quality Plan/ITP
