Senior Quality Manager Focus Area
The Senior Quality Manager upholds company quality standards and policies and provides plant leadership and departmental development to ensure that products are manufactured per company quality assurance standards and federal requirements. This role reports to the Vice President of Operations.
Description and Responsibilities
Has oversight over the two Naturpak facilities in Janesville, WI.
Manages the processing of laboratory data, monitors the data for accuracy through exception reporting, analyzes the data and recognizes unfavorable trends, and ensures smooth and consistent processes through performance improvement opportunities to increase productivity and operating efficiencies.
Understands and supports the documentation, training, and organizational requirements for maintaining a globally recognized quality and food safety certification.
Serves as the program owner and performs internal audits of the program elements.
Supervises, leads, and motivates a team to deliver results by communicating company goals (including quality and customer satisfaction), safety practices, and deadlines.
Conducts preventative analysis and planning, root cause analysis and review, while consistently exhibiting effective, inspirational leadership.
Develops department plans, strategies and provides input for budgets that are aligned with company goals and objectives. Identifies areas of GMP non-compliance and proactively works to remediate.
Provides QA leadership in all matters relating to product quality, disposition and release of materials and finished products.
Facilitates/participates or hosts Regulatory inspections.
Assists Regulatory Affairs in preparation of filings and submissions.
Reviews and approves Master Batch Records and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) ensuring internal and external standards are met.
Reviews and approves Validation Protocols/Reports ensuring internal and external standards are met.
Conducts compliance risk assessments, trend analysis and provides recommendations for compliant business activities.
Focuses on continuous improvement of processes. Updates procedures and policies as needed to maintain compliance and improvement.
Qualifications
Manufacturing experience and Food Industry knowledge preferred.
Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Hazard Analysis Risk-Based Preventive Controls (HARPC) food safety systems knowledge.
Problem-solving and strong analytical ability.
Computer skills including MS Office, statistical software, SAP preferred.
Ability to lead, manage and develop a team.
Ability to multitask, strong time management, and effective communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced Food Manufacturing environment with seasonal temperatures, flexible shifts, and weekend and holiday work based on business needs.
Associate’s degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school (preferred area of study: Food Science, Biology, Chemistry).
Knowledge acquired through 5 to up to 7 years of work experience.
