Full Job Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for testing new and updated software applications to ensure compliance with the design specifications, expected functional outcomes, and usability and for thoroughly documenting the testing activities performed on new or updated software applications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform the duties of Quality Testing Analyst.
Develop and establish quality testing measures and standards for IS testing processes, new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications.
Verify and revise quality testing standards as needed.
Provide guidelines and assistance to staff on current, newly developed and revised testing tools and standards.
Assist in the development of change control processes, practices, and guidelines for new and existing technologies.
Proactively seek opportunities to improve processes. Make recommendations for improvement of applications to software developers.
Maintain and protect the confidentiality of all CRL, CRL subsidiaries, legal entities and client information.
Be able to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
Keep work area neat and clean.
Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE: 2 years software development; 7 years software testing experience
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Expertise with Oracle and SQL databases with the ability to write SQL queries
Expertise with written automated test script (ex.: QTP,UFT, or Team Foundation Server) or HP Quality Center
Strong computer skills
Strong organizational ability and problem solving skills
Professional manner with clients and co-workers
Ability to work well under pressure
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Keen attention to detail
Familiar with Microsoft® suite of products including MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Ability to be at work and on time
Ability and judgment to interact and communicate appropriately with other employees, clients and management
