Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Scrum Master & QA Lead to join our fully remote team.
This hybrid role combines project delivery leadership with hands-on quality assurance oversight. Approximately 50% of the role will focus on Agile project management and Scrum leadership, while the remaining 50% will focus on software quality assurance, testing processes, and release readiness.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sprint execution, coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring delivery commitments are met, and maintaining exceptional product quality standards across multiple software projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Scrum Master (50%)
- Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement sessions.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Delivery Leads, Developers, Designers, and Stakeholders to ensure sprint goals are achieved.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and resource allocation.
- Track team performance and sprint metrics, identifying opportunities to improve velocity and predictability.
- Proactively remove blockers and facilitate communication between teams.
- Ensure Jira boards, epics, stories, tasks, and sprint documentation are maintained accurately.
- Drive accountability across the team while fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Break down large initiatives into manageable deliverables and coordinate execution across multiple contributors.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to agreed quality standards.
Quality Assurance Leadership (50%)
- Own and improve the software QA process across all stages of development.
- Create and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing strategies.
- Perform hands-on manual testing of web and mobile applications.
- Conduct regression, functional, integration, usability, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
- Collaborate closely with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes.
- Ensure releases meet quality standards before deployment.
- Establish QA best practices, standards, and documentation.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, testing activities, and releases.
- Champion a quality-first culture across the development team.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Project Management, Scrum Master, Delivery Management, or Agile leadership roles.
- 3+ years of hands-on Software Quality Assurance experience.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and software development lifecycles.
- Advanced Jira experience, including sprint management, reporting, dashboards, and workflow configuration.
- Proven ability to lead remote software development teams.
- Strong experience in manual testing of web and mobile applications.
- Excellent defect reporting, root-cause analysis, and issue-tracking skills.
- Experience creating test plans, test cases, and QA documentation.
- Exceptional organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent).
- Experience working on healthcare, hospital management, or enterprise software platforms.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and QA tools.
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman.
- Experience working with distributed international teams.
- Understanding of release management and CI/CD processes.
