Job Summary:
Responsible for conducting in-process, first article, and final inspections of high precision machined parts against established standards. Maintains all necessary inspection tools in good operating and calibrated condition, as well as records of inspection results. Creates and maintains inspection documentation (drawings and inspection reports). Hours are negotiable, Monday through Friday.
Job Description:
Inspection
Use mechanical tools in the inspection process – calipers, micrometers, thread gages, optical comparator, and assorted handheld mechanical tools to ensure adherence to drawings
Interpret blueprints, specifications, and shop orders
Understand the fundamentals of GD&T
Communicate any necessary dimensional changes to the machine operators
Tag all parts produced with the appropriate identification tag to indicate disposition
Report all concerns and non-conformances to the Quality Manager
Document all non-conformances
Work with Quality Manager and Management on final disposition of parts
Perform first article, in-process, and last piece part inspections
Accept or reject finished items
Report inspection and test data
Assist Quality Manager as needed
Assist with packaging, shipping, and receiving
Miscellaneous tasks such as sorting, deburring, cleaning parts, etc.
Salary will be based on work experience.
