Role Overview
A Senior Software Engineer in Test is required to join a newly formed data engineering team focused on building performance measurement and analytics solutions for Custom Separately Managed Accounts (CSMA). This is a strategic data platform initiative within the wealth management technology domain.
The role sits within a highly collaborative engineering environment that values innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and development of scalable test automation solutions across a modern data stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for data platforms
- Analyse data workflows and identify opportunities for test automation coverage
- Perform ETL testing, including source-to-target reconciliation and transformation validation
- Ensure data integrity through comprehensive validation strategies
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders in an agile team environment
- Develop and execute automated and BDD-based test scenarios
- Integrate testing processes within CI/CD pipelines and support quality gate implementation
- Contribute to continuous improvement of test strategy, tools, and practices
Required Skills & Experience
- Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Strong experience in test automation within data-centric environments
- Deep understanding of ETL testing and data validation techniques
- Strong programming ability in Java, Python, or other object-oriented languages
- Experience building or extending test automation frameworks
- Hands-on experience with BDD tools such as Cucumber
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with relational and cloud data platforms (e.g., Oracle, Snowflake)
- Familiarity with test management tools such as JIRA and Xray
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and implementing automated quality gates
- Exposure to data testing tools such as ICEDQ or similar platforms
- Knowledge of big data ecosystems such as Apache Spark and AWS EMR
- Background in financial services or regulated environments
