PALAS Consulting is seeking experienced Senior Test Analysts to support the Commonwealth Government. These are hands-on testing roles responsible for validating the design and behaviour of systems and services, from acceptance criteria definition through to test execution, defect management and reporting.
The role suits a practitioner who can work directly with business stakeholders to define clear, measurable acceptance criteria, collaborate with development teams to understand system architecture and downstream impacts, and plan and drive testing activities across all stages of system development.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with key stakeholders to understand business risks and impacts, and define clear, measurable acceptance criteria for new or enhanced software features.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand system architecture, integrations, constraints, infrastructure, risks and downstream impacts of change.
- Design, maintain and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans and test cases, including regression testing to ensure ongoing system stability and quality.
- Perform system integration testing and user acceptance testing for new features, enhancements and defect fixes.
- Manage defect identification, analysis, logging, prioritisation and verification of fixes through re-testing.
- Ensure full traceability between requirements, acceptance criteria, test scenarios and test cases.
- Select, apply and document appropriate test techniques and methodologies to support effective test coverage.
- Produce and maintain high quality test artefacts, including test plans, reports and metrics.
Required Experience
- Demonstrated experience developing acceptance criteria for functional and non-functional requirements, business processes, features, user stories and business rules.
- Proven ability to plan and drive testing activities across all stages and iterations of product, system and service development, including advising on test planning and execution.
- Experience selecting, tailoring and improving test methods, tools and processes in line with agreed standards.
- Experience contributing to quality assurance activities, including audits, reviews and compliance checks against organisational standards and procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of engaging business and technical stakeholders.
- Australian citizenship is mandatory.
- Must hold a current security clearance at a minimum.
Location and Working Arrangements
This role is based onsite in the ACT.
