General Summary:
The Inspection Dept. Trainer is a key department position that contributes to the achievement of the company’s objectives by supporting formal Inspection related on-boarding, Job role certification, multi-skill and continuous learning and development training programs. This role is responsible for supporting company initiatives and EPIC values in the areas of safety, employee engagement, employee retention, and continuous improvement.
The Inspection Trainer will play an active role in continuous improvement of training program content by suggesting updates and improvements to the Manufacturing Training Team (MTT).
Expectations
The Inspection Dept. Trainer is responsible for structured training of new and current Inspection team members including the maintenance and functionality of physical training resources required to facilitate formal programs.
The Inspection Trainer is expected to be fully involved in the onboarding experience of new hires in their department.
On as needed basis, the Inspection trainer will provide Basic Quality Skills (BQS) training program classroom portion delivery and BQS new hires evaluations at their site.
The inspection Dept. Trainer will be certified to train in the classroom, coach on the shop floor, and conduct formal evaluations when required by the company.
The Inspection dept. Trainer will maintain all records related to established quality training programs of new hires (and transfers) in their department and will monitor and provide feedback to site management and the manufacturing training team on their progress.
Introducing new inspection team members to their job function(s), department and co-workers
Ensuring all training is accomplished in their department for the job function(s) they are responsible for including new hire departmental onboarding as well as ongoing or recurring training required of employees in their department
Providing new and current team members with one-on-one learning experiences and opportunities, explaining all responsibilities and procedures and how their job contributes to the overall process/outcomes
Participating in safety training for new and current team members related to safe work practices
Monitoring and assessing employees progress during designated onboarding period; upon successful completion of onboarding, facilitate incorporation of new team member into work team/department and follow-up frequently to ensure things continue to go well throughout their first year
Coordinate (or communicate) remedial and supplemental training for team members to address poor performance, unsafe work habits or facilitate cross training.
Reviewing, tabulating data from formal certification evaluations of new hires with department supervisor to determine opportunities and action plans to continuously improve training programs.
Ability to flex work schedule to work and communicate with Training Coaches on other shifts.
Keeps track of all training related documents in the department including trainee, coach and program evaluations
Provides consistent feedback to the trainees and coaches on training progression
Documents and provides department training-related data to plant management and manufacturing training team
Ensures continuous communication and serves as liaison between manufacturing training team plant-level and department level leadership
Placing a high priority on attendance and punctuality. Any unscheduled absence or tardy will have a negative impact on our ability to meet our training and production objectives.
Meeting or exceeding all performance and productivity standards while promoting a safe and healthy work environment on all company property to achieve the best working conditions for all team members
Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company policies and procedures while performing other assignments as requested or as business needs require
High school diploma or equivalent
Zeus Leadership Academy graduate or qualifies to attend the next available ZLA class.
Meet minimum Workeys, Attendance and Performance requirements for the role.
Minimum of 2 years’ QC inspection experience at Zeus
The ability to carry out oral and written instructions
Must have excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work within basic Microsoft suite: Word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook and MS Teams
Ability to break down complex concepts / tasks into easily consumed informative content
Demonstrates EPIC values in all interactions with new team members
The ability to walk up and down stairs repeatedly.
The employee must have the ability to perform all inspection functions such as physical, mechanical and visual inspection to positively complete training on, or correct inspection methods, and detect cosmetic defects and color differentiation of products.
Must have basic mathematical skills including addition subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals. Must be able to read and write legibly.
