We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Paint Quality Inspector to join our team. The Paint Quality Inspector will oversee the inspection and assessment of painted surfaces and coatings to ensure compliance with quality standards, customer requirements, and industry specifications. This role is critical to maintaining the high-quality standards of our products and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection and Evaluation:
Inspect painted surfaces and coated products for defects such as uneven application, runs, drips, bubbling, peeling, or discoloration.
Measure paint thickness, adhesion, and gloss using industry-standard tools and equipment.
Ensure painted products meet internal and external quality requirements, including safety and durability standards.
Quality Assurance:
Identify root causes of paint defects and work with production teams to implement corrective actions.
Monitor painting processes to ensure consistency and adherence to established procedures.
Conduct pre-production and in-process inspections to prevent defects before final finishing.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of inspection results, quality issues, and corrective actions.
Prepare and present quality reports to supervisors and management teams.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain up-to-date documentation for audits.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
Work closely with the painting, production, and quality control teams to improve processes and techniques.
Recommend changes in painting materials, equipment, or procedures to enhance quality and efficiency.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in quality inspection or coatings technology are a plus.
Proven experience in quality inspection, preferably in a painting or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of painting techniques, coatings, and related quality standards.
Familiarity with inspection tools such as micrometers, gloss meters, and adhesion testers.
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift moderate weights as necessary.
Comfortable working in environments with paint fumes or industrial coatings, with appropriate safety gear provided.
