We are seeking a dedicated Shipping/Quality Control Specialist to join our manufacturing and logistics team. This role is essential in ensuring that products meet rigorous quality standards and regulatory requirements before shipment. The successful candidate will oversee quality assurance processes, conduct detailed inspections, and coordinate shipping activities to guarantee timely delivery of defect-free products. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive quality inspections utilizing precision measuring instruments such as height gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and vision inspection systems to verify dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Interpret manufacturing and engineering documentation, including mechanical blueprints, production documents, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards, to ensure proper assembly and quality compliance.
- Perform regular quality audits in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), and FDA regulations to maintain certification standards.
- Utilize calibration procedures for measuring instruments and ensure all tools meet calibration requirements for accurate measurements.
- Coordinate with production teams to identify root causes of defects or non-conformities; implement corrective actions aligned with quality management systems.
- Manage documentation related to quality control activities, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and audit records.
- Oversee shipping processes by verifying packaging standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory/legal standards, and coordinating logistics for timely delivery.
- Collect data on quality metrics and analyze trends to support continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing environment, preferably involving medical devices or regulated industries.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, GMP, HACCP, FDA regulations, and related regulatory standards.
- Proficiency with calibration and measurement tools such as height gauges, vision systems, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with manufacturing documentation interpretation including mechanical blueprints and GD&T specifications.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret technical drawings and production documents accurately.
- Experience conducting quality audits and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
- Basic math skills for measurement calculations and data analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail coupled with strong analysis skills for identifying deviations from quality standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining high standards of compliance.
