Position Overview
Software Development Engineer in Test is a technical individual contributor role at Swiggy and in this role, an individual is solely responsible for setting up and implementation of test automation strategy from Functional and Non-functional perspective for one module or multiple modules who you work with. In this role, you are also responsible to find innovative ways to optimize the test strategy for maximizing ROI from areas that are undertaken for automation
What qualities are we looking for?
Solid grasp of Testing principles and methodologies.
Should have 1-4 years experience in Automation Testing
Fundamental understanding of HTTP and REST concepts.
Proficiency in object-oriented programming.
Strong analytical skills with a knack for problem-solving
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
Hands-on Experience on latest technologies for backend and front end development like react js, angular, Golang, servlet, bootstrap, input stream processing, JavaScript, NodeJS is a big plus.
Should have a good understanding of relational databases like Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with API, Selenium and Appium.
Experience in Java,REST API and backend automation is advantageous.
Knowledge of cloud mobile testing tools like LambdaTest and BrowserStack is a plus.
Must have prior experience in creating optimal test strategy (Including Functional, Non-Functional, Analytics and automation) and test plans for short term and long-term projects both
Must have understanding and implementation level experience on design patterns
What will you get to do here?
Conduct functional testing of Backend and Mobile applications (Android/iOS) to ensure seamless performance.
SDET is responsible for the addition of new capabilities and features in the automation framework which is used by the entire QA team for test automation and You are also responsible for managing and maintaining test coverage through periodic reports to engineering and stakeholders.
Will play an expert role and demands a complete hands-on contribution on Single or multiple projects simultaneously
Perform API testing using tools like Postman to validate backend functionalities
Develop comprehensive test plans and cases to ensure thorough test coverage.
Utilize tools such as JIRA, Postman, and Charles Proxy for efficient testing workflows.
Demonstrate understanding of SDLC, STLC, and software testing concepts.
Manage defect life cycle, including severity and priority assessments.
Attention to detail in multi-platform testing scenarios.
Collaborate cross-functionally to execute and validate test cases based on requirements.
