Position: Software QA Engineer (hybrid)

As a Software QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Vida24 ecosystem. You will be responsible for testing across our web, mobile, and smartwatch platforms, identifying issues, and verifying fixes to deliver a seamless and trustworthy experience for our users.

Vida24 is built on a Laravel backend with a MySQL database, exposing REST APIs consumed by Flutter mobile applications. You don’t need to be an expert in these technologies, but you should be comfortable working close to the code, reading logs, calling API endpoints directly, and running database queries to get to the root of an issue.

Important note: The position is based in Greece, and fluency in Greek and English, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Applications from candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product owners and UI/UX engineers to understand requirements and user stories.
  • Design functional and compatibility test cases and scenarios based on requirements and user stories.
  • Execute manual test cases across various web browsers, iOS and Android devices, and smartwatches.
  • Verify data synchronization and consistency across the Vida24ã ecosystem.
  • Provide clear, concise steps to reproduce bugs, including logs, screenshots, or video captures where necessary.
  • Verify bug fixes implemented by the development team.
  • Perform exploratory and edge-case testing where no formal test cases exist, using technical understanding of the system to find the scenarios most likely to break it.
  • Execute manual test cases across various web browsers and iOS and Android devices.
  • Use API clients (e.g. Postman) to test and debug backend endpoints directly.
  • Run database queries (MySQL) to verify data integrity and investigate the root cause of bugs.
  • Read and interpret application logs (backend and mobile) to isolate issues.
  • Validate UI/UX elements against design specifications.
  • Communicate test progress, results, and potential risks on Atlassian Jira.
  • Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint review, planning, and retrospectives).
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies.

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in software development or QA, with a strong testing mindset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes (SDLC, test case design).
  • Comfortable with API testing tools (Postman).
  • Basic SQL and the ability to query a relational database (MySQL).
  • Awareness of data privacy/security when handling sensitive health data (GDPR), and testing that access control behaves correctly across a multi-tenant hierarchy.
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum development methodology.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience within the healthcare, wellness, or digital health domain.
  • Interest in growing test coverage through automation as the platform matures (e.g. Pest/PHPUnit for backend, Flutter integration tests).
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Basic understanding of performance and security testing concepts.

Salary range: 1.300€-1.800€ per month depending on experience and skills.
