Role Description
As the Software Quality Assurance Lead (QA Automation & Testing) at ColdTrack, you'll own the quality strategy for ColdTrack Live, our proprietary SaaS platform that powers order management, shipping, parcel auditing, shipment tracking, analytics, and operational reporting for our fulfillment network. You'll lead our quality assurance efforts by expanding our automated testing capabilities, maintaining our Mabl testing platform, and ensuring every release meets the highest standards of reliability and performance.
You'll work closely with Engineering and Product teams to define testing standards, implement scalable automation strategies, and validate new features, integrations, and critical business workflows. This role is ideal for an experienced QA professional who enjoys combining strategic ownership with hands-on testing and automation in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
Responsibilities
Own the QA Strategy: Lead the software quality strategy for ColdTrack Live by establishing QA standards, testing methodologies, release validation processes, and a roadmap for continuously improving software quality.
Drive Test Automation: Expand and maintain ColdTrack's Mabl automated testing platform, develop automated regression test suites for critical business workflows, and continuously increase automation coverage across the platform.
Evaluate AI-Assisted Testing: Assess AI-assisted testing capabilities, including Mabl GenAI, AI-generated test creation, self-healing tests, intelligent regression testing, and automated visual regression testing to continuously improve automation coverage.
Execute Manual Testing: Perform manual testing for new features, system integrations, exploratory testing, smoke testing, and production issue validation to ensure comprehensive application quality.
Validate Business-Critical Workflows: Design and execute testing strategies that ensure the reliability of ColdTrack Live's core capabilities, including order management, shipping, parcel auditing, shipment tracking, analytics, reporting, and third-party integrations.
Test APIs & Integrations: Apply REST API testing, SQL, and integration testing across platforms like Shopify, Easypost, Trackstar, and Extensiv to ensure reliable end-to-end functionality.
Champion a Quality-First Culture: Promote a quality-first mindset across Engineering and Product, ensuring testing standards and release validation processes are consistently upheld throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications
SaaS QA Experience: 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance within SaaS environments, with a strong understanding of delivering high-quality software across complex applications.
Test Automation Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on experience implementing automated testing, including building and maintaining automated regression test suites for critical business workflows.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with REST APIs, SQL, and CI/CD pipelines; hands-on proficiency with automated testing platforms such as Mabl (preferred), Playwright, or Cypress.
Integration & API Testing: Familiarity with Postman and REST API testing, along with integration testing experience across platforms like Shopify, Easypost, Trackstar, and Extensiv.
Quality-First Mindset: Demonstrated ability to define testing strategies, improve automation coverage, reduce manual regression effort, and contribute to reliable, high-quality software releases.
AI-Assisted Testing: Experience with, or a strong interest in, leveraging AI-powered testing capabilities such as AI-generated test creation, self-healing automated tests, intelligent regression testing, and automated visual regression testing is highly desirable.
Testing Breadth: Experience with end-to-end testing and performance testing, in addition to automated regression and API/integration testing, to ensure comprehensive coverage across ColdTrack Live's critical workflows.
Collaboration & Ownership: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams while taking ownership of software quality initiatives, driving continuous improvement, and delivering results in a fast-paced SaaS environment.

Structure
As the Software Quality Assurance Lead (QA Automation & Testing), you will work within ColdTrack's Engineering organization, partnering closely with the Engineering and Product teams while owning the quality assurance strategy for ColdTrack Live. This role is responsible for driving QA automation initiatives, establishing testing standards, and ensuring the delivery of reliable, high-quality software across the platform.
Location and Travel Requirements
This is a full-time remote position. Occasional travel may be required for team meetings, planning sessions, and company events.
Compensation and Benefits
$100,000-$115,000 Base salary, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
