Job Overview
Our client is seeking up to six (6) QA Automation Developers to support the Digital Design and Delivery Division (3D) in delivering high-quality digital services across multiple ministries. The role involves working with cross-functional teams to ensure service quality, implement test automation, and support digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
Test Planning & Execution:
Develop test plans, test cases, and scenarios for frequent feature releases.
Implement system, load, performance, and security testing.
Test Automation:
Create and maintain automated test suites for rapid and reliable testing.
Coordinate team contributions to automation frameworks.
Quality Assurance & Best Practices:
Promote quality practices such as code linting, test coverage, and BDD/TDD.
Contribute to reusable testing components, test databases, and AI-driven testing.
Metrics & Reporting:
Define and track key service quality metrics.
Automate report generation and quality artifacts.
Requirements:
Strong experience in software testing, test automation, and QA methodologies.
Hands-on expertise in designing and implementing automated test suites.
Experience with Agile methodology and human-centered design approaches.
Ability to work across multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Minimum of 4 years of work experience as Software Quality Engineer and 2 years in automation.
Must Pass:
Ability to provide a current criminal record check upon request.
If assigned to a Justice-related project, must obtain Enhanced Security Clearance before starting.
Willingness to complete mandatory training courses (e.g., FOIP Act, Cybersecurity, Information Management, Respect in the Workplace).
Work Requirements:
Primarily remote, with occasional in-person meetings in Edmonton (travel expenses not covered).
Some travel within Alberta may be required for field research and user interviews (covered by GoA when applicable).
Must provide own equipment (computer, software, etc.) when working remotely.
