Harris is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its operations team in Melbourne, Florida. The successful candidate will:
Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into finished or semi-finished products.
Apply extensive technical knowledge of industry-standard quality engineering methods, interpretation of drawings, specifications, standards, and mechanical measurements and analysis.
Ensure that products meet company and regulatory quality standards.
Review, analyze, and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly and delivery processes.
Perform trend analysis of defects.
Audit quality systems to identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
Investigate problems and develop dispositions and corrective actions for recurring issues.
Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure requirements are met.
Recommend corrective actions, dispositions, and modifications.
Perform As-Built verifications and collaborate with Configuration Management on hardware flow.
Possess working knowledge of APQP, SPC, PFMEA, and 8D methodologies.
Utilize Six Sigma and Lean principles to improve the quality management system.
Review design plans, process procedures, test procedures, and quality manuals to understand scope and requirements.
Ensure products meet organizational and customer quality and integrity standards.
Support product development and operations by providing analysis and expertise during inspections.
Identify root causes of production problems and recommend or implement corrective measures.
Ensure supplier adherence to customer-imposed technical requirements and maintain a quality system.
Analyze data to identify trends and prevent future defects.
Develop quality plans and budgets for assigned programs, including proposal review.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a 2-year post-secondary/Associate’s Degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
