As we continue to grow in a fast-evolving industry, we’re seeking a Quality, Procurement & R&D Manager who can lead sourcing efforts, uphold product quality, drive innovation, and help scale our manufacturing processes. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution — ideal for a dynamic, self-motivated professional ready to make a big impact.

Position Overview

This is a cross-functional leadership role focused on raw material sourcing, lab testing coordination, quality system implementation, and product development. The ideal candidate will also play a pivotal role in maintaining our Master Manufacturing Records (MMRs) and Batch Production Records (BPRs), supporting R&D initiatives, and helping us scale manufacturing while maintaining compliance and quality. This role includes travel across New York State 2–3 days per week to source materials and qualify new vendors.

Core ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Vendor Management

Travel throughout New York State to source and qualify new vendors for raw materials and packaging
Manage supplier relationships, pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules
Track inventory levels and place timely purchase orders aligned with production schedules

Quality & Compliance

Oversee implementation and maintenance of quality systems aligned with GMP best practices
Coordinate third-party lab testing and manage sample submissions and CoA reviews
Maintain and update Master Manufacturing Records (MMRs) and Batch Production Records (BPRs)
Ensure all documentation and processes are audit-ready and aligned with NYS OCM regulations

R&D & Product Development

Support the development and improvement of new formulations and product SKUs
Conduct research and trials on new inputs, ingredients, and process improvements
Collaborate with production and leadership teams to test, refine, and scale formulations

ERP & Data Management

Enter and maintain accurate procurement, quality, and inventory data in ERP system (e.g., Fishbowl)
Ensure batch tracking, lab results, and inventory reconciliation are current and compliant

Start-Up Agility & Scaling

Proactively identify and solve problems across procurement, quality, and R&D
Adapt quickly to shifting business needs and growth phases
Support manufacturing scale-up without compromising product integrity or quality

Qualifications

3+ years experience in procurement, QA/QC, or R&D in cannabis, food/bev, pharma, or CPG
Strong working knowledge of GMP, ISO, or HACCP protocols
Experience managing BPRs/MMRs and working with lab testing requirements (CoAs)
Proficiency in ERP systems and documentation practices
Excellent organization and communication skills
Proven ability to self-start, multitask, and thrive in a start-up environment

Additional Requirements

Willingness to travel throughout New York State 2–3 days per week
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and conduct on-site vendor assessments

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, with travel flexibility
