The Manager of Food Safety & Quality Assurance is responsible for planning and executing our food safety & quality assurance processes and programs across the Shamrock Food Service division. They will work closely with other business units and locations to ensure continued compliance with Shamrock and regulatory standards as well as third-party and customer FSQA requirements in our multi-site warehousing and distribution locations. They will work closely with Shamrock’s corporate business units to ensure coordination and execution of internal FSQA policies and procedures.
Essential Duties:
Serve as an internal FSQA resource on food safety regulations, laws, policies and procedures of FDA, USDA and other regulatory entities
Support the development and implementation of the FSQA strategy, goals, and objectives
Further develop and manage the Shamrock FSMA Plans as well as Shamrock FSQA policies and procedures in coordination with internal stakeholders
Lead others in conducting and documenting facility hazard evaluation/analysis, developing and implementing preventive controls and verifying plan effectiveness against FSMA and other regulatory requirements
Serve as multi-facility SQF Practitioner developing and validating food safety procedures and policies
Manage the product Recall/Withdrawal program
Partner with other business units and external stakeholders on regulatory, customer, and third-party food safety audits
Drive simplification and standardization of FSQA process to ensure a continuous improvement mindset across the enterprise
Provide FSQA support for all product safety and quality issues (specification, complaint, recall/withdrawal, etc.)
Analyze and report food safety data, metrics and trends to monitor and drive continuous food safety performance improvement
Support the development and maintenance of the vendor quality programs; manage on-boarding, evaluations and audits, policies and procedures, and other functions related to vendor or product quality
Develop and implement annual enterprise training content, requirements, and frequencies for FSQA standards and practices
Create and maintain FSQA training materials and operating manuals.
Must have strong organizational ability and demonstrate skill in creation of innovative ways to organize and maintain records.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in science required (Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field). Master’s degree preferred.)
5+ years of experience in food safety & quality assurance
2+ years managing others, projects or programs
Working knowledge of regulatory compliance with USDA, FDA, CFR, and managing third-party auditing schemes (For Example: GFSI, SQF, GMP, Food Code).
Ability to review regulatory requirements, evaluate compliance, and implementing change
Experience with regulatory inspections
20% travel anticipated and required
Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays.
