About the Role
As the Senior Director, Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA), you will set the strategy and lead execution for all FSQA responsibilities, including supplier food safety program management, cleaning validation, quality monitoring, and research and development. You will also ensure compliance with food traceability programs, represent Chipotle’s food safety initiatives to external agencies, and support new business development and international growth.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and oversee supplier food safety strategies, risk assessments, audits, cold chain monitoring, and traceability.
Manage onboarding processes for new suppliers, including risk assessments, recipe development, and quality validation.
Support supply chain diversification efforts and ensure effective communication across teams.
Lead food traceability initiatives from farm to restaurant, including data management and RFID projects.
Supervise product removals from distribution centers and restaurants when necessary.
Coordinate with restaurant and field teams on outbreak response and regulatory investigations.
Monitor industry best practices and regulatory trends affecting food safety and quality.
Qualifications
M.S. in Food Safety or Food Law required;
Ph.D. preferred.
15+ years in food safetyleadership, manufacturing, retail, or food service.
5-8 years supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of USDA and FDA regulations, GAPs, GMPs, Food Code, HACCP, SSOPs.
Compensation & Benefits
