Title: Sr. Engineer, Electrode QA (Quality Assurance)

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Electrode QA

Location: Queen Creek, AZ

Summary:

This role supports continuous improvement of methods and procedures in the battery electrode manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards. The electrode is a critical component impacting battery reliability and quality. The engineer will evaluate and implement techniques to enhance process consistency, reliability, and standardization, and will support quality assurance activities including PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, Gage R&R, calibration, and corrective/preventive actions.

Responsibilities:

Develop, document, and verify SOPs for reliable inspection of electrode components.

Analyze production data and processes to identify root causes of nonconformance and lead corrective actions.

Analyze nonconforming electrode samples, report findings, and implement preventive measures.

Lead investigations into process deviations to improve stability and capability.

Collaborate with Production and Procurement to resolve electrode quality issues.

Ensure understanding and application of quality standards and best practices.

Communicate effectively to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Maintain accuracy and reliability of laboratory and testing equipment.

Coordinate with the South Korea quality department on corrective actions.

Apply SPC methods to monitor processes and identify quality risks.

Perform root cause analyses and provide actionable recommendations.

Manage nonconforming electrodes per quality policies.

Conduct audits to verify process compliance.

Manage PPAP documentation and changes related to 4

Ms.

Ensure a safe, clean, and efficient work environment following 5S3R standards.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum 7 years in quality assurance, preferably in manufacturing.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or related field.

Experience in high-volume production, control plans, PFMEAs, process controls preferred.

Knowledge of IATF 16949 standards, Minitab, Six Sigma, 8D methodology.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Ability to work flexible hours and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 35 pounds, stooping, twisting, bending, reaching, sitting, and standing.

Skills:

Knowledge of APQP, inspection techniques, root cause analysis, capability studies, process documentation, PPAP, 8D, problem-solving, GD&T.

Experience in SOPs, Control Plans, CTQs, process audits.

Strong communication, ownership, teamwork, data analysis, and report writing skills.

Proficiency with MS Office and Minitab.
