Jonaco Machine is a full-service precision machining supplier with over 50 years of industry experience producing a portfolio of complex, close tolerance parts for customers in the aerospace/defense, medical, semi-conductor and high technology industries.
We have an opportunity for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in ensuring quality control and process optimization within manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Control Plans & PFMEA: Develop, implement, and maintain Control Plans and PFMEA to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks in manufacturing processes.
Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R): Conduct and analyze GR&R studies to ensure measurement systems’ accuracy and reliability.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards, including AS9100, AS9102, AS13100, and customer-specific requirements.
Production Part Approval Process (PPAP): Manage and support the PPAP process to ensure the approval of new parts and changes.
Customer Service & Communication: Collaborate with customers to resolve quality-related issues, ensuring their satisfaction and compliance with quality requirements.
Work Instructions & Documentation: Develop, review, and maintain clear and concise work instructions to standardize processes and ensure consistent quality.
Problem Solving & Corrective Actions: Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts using established methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone Diagrams, and 5 Whys. Develop and implement corrective actions to address quality issues.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Use statistical tools and analysis, including control charts and process capability studies, to drive data-driven decisions for continuous process improvements.
Process Auditing: Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes and QMS (Quality Management System) to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
Applied GD&T & Mechanical Print Reading: Interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and mechanical prints to support manufacturing processes.
Process Capability & Control Charts: Monitor process performance and capability through statistical analysis, including control charts and process capability indices.
Manufacturing Process Reviews & Continuous Improvement: Participate in manufacturing process reviews and lead initiatives to optimize process efficiency and product quality.
Other projects, responsibilities, and tasks may be assigned based on business needs and the inherent strengths of the individual selected for this role.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related field) or equivalent technical experience.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
Experience with Control Plans, PFMEA, GR&R, PPAP, and other quality tools.
Strong understanding of AS9100, AS9102, and AS13100 standards.
Experience with QMS and continuous improvement methodologies.
Familiarity with applied GD&T and mechanical print reading.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel).
Experience in process auditing and developing quality documentation.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and implement corrective actions.
Certifications (Preferred):
Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
AS9100 / ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
