Description
Position Title: Sr Manufacturing Quality Engineer
Salary Classification: Exempt
Reports to: QA Manager
Supervises: N/A
Summary
Under minimal supervision of the Quality Manager, provides technical support for the development and implementation of ISO 9000 Quality Management systems within a Lean Continuous Process Improvement environment. Supports quality engineering activities across sales, engineering, procurement, and production operations.
Job Duties
Assist Quality Manager in maintaining the Quality Management System and act on their behalf in their absence.
Maintain ISO 9000 certification through auditing, KPI reporting, and documentation management.
Provide technical oversight on contract review, design review, vendor qualification, and production audits to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Participate as a member of the MRB, review defective materials, develop disposition methods, and update related documentation.
Apply quality tools such as FMEA, PMP, SPC, and 8D methodology.
Lead and support regulatory, customer, and internal audits.
Develop and oversee quality standards for processes, materials, and products.
Troubleshoot technical product issues and collaborate with engineering for resolution.
Design sampling procedures and establish programs to evaluate equipment and process capabilities.
Lead cross-functional teams in FMEA and PFMEA creation.
Provide leadership in supplier development and conduct supplier evaluations.
Support Continuous Process Improvement and Kaizen initiatives, especially in new product development.
Manage the Measuring & Test Equipment program.
Develop and maintain internal quality procedures, work instructions, and standards.
Requirements
Minimum Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years in quality assurance.
Preferred Experience:
7+ years in quality engineering or technical roles in electronics manufacturing.
Strong statistical analysis skills and application.
Experience with process audits, CAPA, and ISO/TL 9000.
