In this role, you’ll be responsible for executing the local manufacturing production of products for MK Mexico in close collaboration with LATAM region, Mary Kay Inc Process Commercialization group and Local Contract Manufacturers (CM´s). The goal is transferring the required manufacturing technology to local CM´s, assuring MK Global requirements are accomplished in the local manufactured products.
Responsibilities—what you’ll do:
Provide specialized technical support for current contract manufacturers (CM´s) in collaboration with Quality and Strategic sourcing partner. Analyze equipment and processes to guide technical decisions related to contract manufacturing capabilities and capacities.
Coordinate the transfer of technology (ToT) process with support of Commercialization group and Product Integrity team in corporate, by elaborating procedures and working instructions in compliance with global Quality, Product Integrity and Engineering guidelines, achieving the original OSD for each project.
Support the development and production of regional products according to the agreed marketing plan in close collaboration with LATAM regional teams.
Define manufacturing procedures with contract manufacturers according to MK Global requirements. Organize and keep updated documents related to manufacturing procedures, formulas and datasheets according to company rules and within document control processes. Work together with Quality, Packaging engineer and Strategic sourcing partner to elaborate the set of specifications for contract manufacturers.
Lead the local filling tests, providing all the information necessary to define the best route to avoid issues related to quality.
With the support of quality assurance develops and manages a continuous quality improvement program for raw materials and manufacturing processes/procedures. Keep updated all technical information in suppliers’ documents control department as well as quality assurance when a change is done.
Conceive, participate, and execute cost reduction projects, process bottleneck solving and scrap reduction in manufacturing processes. Support CAPA action plans in partnership with Quality Engineer and Packaging Engineering.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Industrial Chemistry.
·3+ years of experience working with manufacturing process development for cosmetics (skin care products, fragrances, make up, etc) and/or related products is mandatory.
· Deep knowledge on industrial equipment as mixers, reactors, auxiliary devices (pumps, homogenizers, etc) is necessary.
· Fluent in English. Desired: Portuguese
· This position visits local manufacturing companies within the metropolitan area at least 2 times per week. **Driver’s Licence mandatory
