Job Purpose/ Objective

Conduct welding inspection and work related to: Joint Fit Up, Root Run, Dye Penetrant Test, Magnetic Particle Test, Hardness Testing, Viewing, and Interpreting Radiography.

Key Accountabilities

Mechanical Integrity Inspection of Stationary Equipment

  • Repair Inspection: Joint Fit up, Root run, Dye penetrant test, Magnetic Particle test, Hardness testing, viewing, and interpreting Radiography.
  • Welder Performance Qualification, Manage repair alteration sheets, Management of Change Process.
  • Internal and external inspection of Pressure envelope (vessels, columns, piping, Exchanger, Valves etc.).
  • Check of surfaces, coating and painting, Refractory.
  • Check-up of Corrosion under insulation.
  • Carry out Dye Penetrant Test, Magnetic Particle test, Radiography interpretation, Positive Metal identification. Hardness testing, Video Probe inspection / Boroscopy.
  • Build Corrosion Circuits, ultra sonic Thickness monitoring of pipes and vessels. Collects baseline as well as scheduled monitoring data for equipment and updates in software.
  • Assists Static Equipment Engineer in Preparing and managing Risk based Inspection.

Maintaining of Stationary Equipment related reports, tools and contracts

  • Maintain and calibrate all inspection tools as per schedule.
  • Ensure sufficient inventory of inspection consumables are available.
  • Prepare inspection reports on Thickness survey, Welding inspection, Internal and external inspection in Meridium software.
  • Perform as designated site representative for contracts related to ERG. Ensure the safety of Contract work force.

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices in order to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Implement all relevant policies, processes, procedures and instructions of Project Engineering Section so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across Instrument and Electrical Section to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high quality products/services.

Reporting

  • Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet departmental requirements, policies and standards.

Qatarization

  • Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is applicable to expatriate employees only.

Education

Education Required: High School / Secondary – 12th grade or 10th grade plus Vocational

Experience Required: Minimum 5 years of relevant Chemical or Power or Oil & Gas Industry experience.

Either/OR

Education Required: 2 years of diploma in Engineering

Experience Required: Minimum 4 years of relevant Chemical or Power or Oil & Gas Industry experience.

Either/OR

Education Required: 3 years of diploma in Engineering

Experience Required: Minimum 3 years of relevant Chemical or Power or Oil & Gas Industry experience

Other Job Specific Requirements and/or Vocational Accreditations

  • ASNT Level II, UT, PT & MT Certification

Preferred Skills

  • In-depth understanding of corrosion control / cathodic protection, inspection reports generation
  • Hands-on experience in thickness monitoring & survey, welding inspection, non-destructive testing, painting & coating inspection, insulation & refractory inspection, inspection tools calibration
