Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Specialist to oversee fit-up and fabrication accuracy on the shop floor. This role is critical in preventing errors related to length, orientation, bolt pattern layout, and general part conformity before welding or installation occurs.
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $27 – $35 (based on experience)
Hours: Day shift (5:00 AM – 1:30 PM)
Responsibilities
- Measure and inspect fabricated steel pieces for correct length, layout, and bolt hole placement, etc.
- Compare each part to the drawings to ensure accuracy
- Catch and correct mistakes before welding begins
- Work with fitters and welders to solve issues quickly
- Help maintain a high standard of quality across the shop
- Assist with fit-up or fabrication work if needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in a steel fabrication shop
- Skilled in fit-up and layout of structural components
- MIG welding experience
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Takes pride in doing clean, correct work
