Structural Steel Quality Inspector
Location: Richmond, VA
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay: Starts at $31/hour, higher rate available depending on experience
Job Overview
We are seeking a Structural Steel QC Inspector to perform quality inspections in an AISC-certified facility. Experienced senior-level structural steel fitters/fabricators may also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections of fabricated structural steel.
- Identify and document nonconformances in accordance with D1.1/D1.5.
- Inspect materials against shop drawings and specifications.
- Perform in-process and final inspections, including dimensional layout and part placement.
- Participate in annual AISC QC audits.
- Work with production to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Help develop and support quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in structural steel layout and fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication and construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and quality standards.
- Welding certification in D1.1 and/or D1.5 preferred.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 1st Shift
- Overtime available on Saturdays.
Pay: From $31.00 per hour
