Job Description
Sika Corporation is growing! this position is a 2nd Shift schedule, 3:00pm-11:30pm – QC Lab Technician.
Broad Function and Purpose of Position:
Perform assigned routine tests on raw materials, work-in-process and finished products; compare results against approved specifications and quality standards; set up and maintain results, forms, logs, charts and other records. Work is performed under the direction of the Lead QC Technician and reports to the Quality Supervisor.
Specific Responsibilities:
Obtain samples of raw materials, work-in-process and finished products and test for a variety of characteristics including color, moisture, expansion, viscosity, pH, weight, flow, set time, etc. to insure product quality is within approved specifications.
Evaluate test data and recommend adjustments to work-in-process batches; may stop production based on test results.
Record data, maintain records, and prepare reports noting test results within or deviations from, existing standards and specifications; release products or prepare non-conforming documents for management action; maintain logs as required.
Enter data into computer and prepare statistical reports, graphs; analyze and trend data.
Use scales, calipers, titrators, spectrometers, ovens and other equipment in the performance of work activities; calibrate, or verify calibration, of equipment; maintain equipment in good working order.
Maintain quality standards, records and files in conformance with Sika quality standards; compiles, stores and retrieves production data.
Retain test samples for the shelf life of products and in accordance with company policy; may operate forklift to relocate material to be retained.
May maintain production batch records and enter data into computer.
Maintain safe and clean work environment in accordance with Sika standards.
Perform other work and special projects as required by manager.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or equivalent degree, with particular proficiency in basic math required.
Years Experience: 1 – 2 years laboratory testing experience or Bachelor’s degree in science.
