The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Public Health and Safety Division, Laboratory Services.
This position provides laboratory support to both the Clinical and Environmental Public Health Laboratories. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Overseeing the daily accessioning process; Accessioning clinical specimens prior to testing; Performing data entry and quality control for clinical specimens received; Assisting with other data entry and IT projects in the laboratory system improvement section.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
Good working knowledge of general laboratory principles, practice, and technique.
Knowledge of potential hazards in laboratory work, including biological and chemical hazards.
Ability to enter data quickly and accurately.
Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
Meet minimum qualifications:
High school diploma or its equivalent.
Associate degree in chemistry, biology, or biological preferred.
One year of job-related work experience in a clinical, veterinary, or research laboratory.
Equivalent combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Additional Information
This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1, 2025 and July 1, 2026.

Training Assignment: This agency may use a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules. Conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire.
