Wahl Vietnam is a subsidiary of Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Supplier Quality Engineer.
Job Summary: The Supplier Quality Engineer will work closely with the Sourcing department and other functional areas in the implementation of the supplier quality program. This role is responsible for the tactical and systematic management of supplier quality assurance and development. Driving improvements in the PPAP process, quality metrics, problem solving and managing material quality at the source.
Reporting Relationship: This position reports to Global Strategic Sourcing (Shanghai office) and has cross functional relationships. Will work closely with Category Managers, Buyers, Engineers, and the Quality Department.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the development of processes and procedures that improve supply base performance and raise the level of quality expectations.
- Lead the non-conformance reporting (NCR) process for purchased items to ensure full disposition is achieved toward closure. This includes physical disposition, receipt of quality CAPA or 8D and financial disposition (debit or charge submission).
- Work with incoming inspection and quality departments to ensure material rejections are addressed and the proper root cause/corrective actions are put in place and communicated to all stakeholders within the global value chain.
- Guide or facilitate cross functional teams; demonstrate knowledge and ability to lead continuous improvement activity.
- Lead and conduct on-site and remote PPAP's of new purchased parts at new or existing vendors. Validate appropriate processes, equipment and quality systems are in place to assure product quality.
- Conduct supplier quality audits and report results. Provide subsequent recommendations, action plans and timing to achieve resolutions to existing issues.
- Participate in developing a new supplier evaluation and material approval process.
- Continuously active in process improvement activities, resulting in increased customer satisfaction through robust quality assurance.
- Complete supplier quality issue resolution to solve problems at the source.
- Audit select suppliers for tracking and scoring vendor performance.
- Work with Category Managers to maintain the vendor database of qualified vendors to mitigate risk and continuously improve supply base.
- Actively involved with supplier PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process).
- Responsible for communicating with global compliance team and suppliers, fulfill related documents on compliance like Social responsibility, CTPAT, material restriction etc.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline is preferred.
- Quality certification, Six Sigma Black Belt, or equivalent work experience a plus.
- Exceptional knowledge in the usage of MSA, APQP, PPAP, RCAs, and other quality tools.
- Must have strong problem solving, decision making, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to interface with management to resolve and provide clear and actionable reports.
- Monitor actions across the organization balancing local action with global coordination.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, use all types of inspection equipment and gauges.
- Time management skills.

- Microsoft D365 and Office Suite is a plus.
- International travel may be required on occasion.
- Bilingual skills in Vietnamese & English; and Chinese speaking is preferred.
