Travel: Travel to suppliers up to 50%
Shift – 8 AM to 5 PM (Monday to Friday)
This position is for the Power/Energy division.
We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer 2
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, your day will be filled with engaging interactions with suppliers, analyzing data, and driving continuous improvement. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met while fostering strong relationships with our valued suppliers.
- Lead Product Qualification Activities at Suppliers – Product and Process Qualifications (PPQs)
- Contain, manage, and resolve Quality issues relating to supplier non-conforming components identified at Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) clients' assembly facilities, warehouses, or customers globally.
- Manage suppliers to properly handle non-conformance issues.
- Assist with process improvements.
- Lead supplier root cause investigations and corrective actions through the Problem Resolution process.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing capability issues within the supply chain to ensure business continuity.
- Identify and support cost reduction opportunities through interaction with the Supply Chain/Strategic Business
- Audit existing and potential suppliers to determine the capability of manufacturing and ensure quality systems are in place.
- Develop supplier capability to meet current and future requirements
- Interact with customer-facing businesses to investigate potential product non-conformances
- Implements the agreed commodity and SQM strategy (including value, digitalization, and collaboration)
- Drives supplier performance and continuous improvement, and collaborates in supplier development programs.
- Creates and negotiates General Quality and Quality Assurance agreements and monitors supplier contract coverage rate.
- Implements complaints management to detect and analyze non-conformances, verifies root cause analysis,s and communicates with suppliers. Supports sustainable problem-solving.
- Plans and executes supplier audits, including follow-up of audit measures.
- Continuously improves internal SQM processes (innovation, digitalization, LEAN)
- Fosters (virtual) interaction with suppliers.
Requirement:
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or a relevant discipline & Quality-related Certifications/training with 3 to 5 years relevant work experience.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM), and Quality Control routines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Demonstrated ability to work with design engineering organizations to ensure parts are manufacturable.
- Proven ability to manage multi-problem investigations simultaneously.
- Self-motivated attitude and ownership of projects
- Ability to project manage Product and Process Qualifications and unexpected Supplier Quality Issues from beginning to end.
- Knowledge of inspection methodologies and assessment of inspection capability.
Preferred:
- Experience or working with critical parts.
- Proven track record of application of Quality improvement processes and tools (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
- SAP experience.
