Job Summary
A Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for managing the quality aspects of materials and services provided by external suppliers. The role involves implementing quality assurance processes, conducting audits, and collaborating with suppliers to address quality issues. SQEs work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and engineering, to ensure that the components and materials sourced meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements. This position is vital for maintaining the integrity of the supply chain and ensuring that end products meet the high standards expected by customers and stakeholders.
Main Duty and Responsibilities
- Conduct new supplier audit, annual supplier evaluation, supplier performance evaluation
- Provide inspection standards, appearance standards for materials, buy part to suppliers
- Review and approve PPAP for new material/ buy part development
- Responsible to handle IQC quality inspection.
- Manage a team of IQC inspector to perform IQC inspection as per established procedures.
- Issue WI, inspection standards and training for IQC to conduct in-coming inspection per inspection plan.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly IQC inspection report to QA management.
- Follow NCMR procedure when NG part is detected.
- Supplier 8D review
- Manage all material/ buy part certificate and report (ROHS, REACH, MSDS,…)
- Ensure inspector is competence to carry out the work by training all inspectors and matain skill matrix.
- Ensure working area 5S, equipment in good conditions and a safe working area and follow all safety rules.
- Training of IQC staff and conduct certification test periodically.
- Support CQE on NCMR and quality improvement matters & customer audits.
- Follow all Management System procedures as per ISO9001/ISO14001/IATF16949.
- Accept additional responsibilities as of required.
Requirements
- Good communication skills in Chinese, basic English.
- University Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5~7 years experiences in Metal Stamping Process or Product related environment.
- Able to read and undertand customer mechanical drawings and perform measurement using equipment/tools like CMM, Height Gauge, Smart Scope, profile projectors etc…
- Experience with metal, standard parts (crew, stud, nut, rivet,…)
- Good problem solving skills and analytical skill i.e good skill in 7QC tools, 8D methodology, 5-why analysis, SPC and LEAN 6-Sigma etc…Green belt is minimum and Black belt qualification is added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skill with external customer and internal teams.
- Have experience latest 5 years for supplier quality management: Can conduct system audit & process audit supplier for new supplier or annual audit. Have experience for audit special process follow CQI 11 / CQI 12.
- Competent in using computer and report writings, Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Flexibility in term of working hours and able to work under pressure.
