Quality Inspector – Aerospace Machine Shop

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in precision machining, a strong understanding of quality control processes, and a keen eye for detail. This role ensures that our aerospace components meet customer specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on machined aerospace components.
Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), and optical comparators.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications.
Document inspection results and generate quality reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports) per AS9102 standards.
Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
Work closely with machinists, engineers, and production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
Maintain calibration records for measuring equipment.
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in aerospace quality inspection or precision machining.
Strong knowledge of GD&T, AS9102 First Article Inspection, and AS9100 quality standards.
Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and CMM operation (Mitutoyo, or similar).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
Experience with non-conformance reporting and corrective action processes.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and quality management software is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
CMM programming experience (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar).
Familiarity with aerospace industry standards (NADCAP, ITAR compliance, etc.).
Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and Six Sigma methodologies.

Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour
