Supplier Quality Engineer – Electrical/Aerospace Jobs in Pune, India at Crane India
Position: Supplier Quality Engineer – Electrical (Aerospace)
This position will be responsible for strategic purchase activities which involve Supplier assessment, Supplier audits, development and approval of new products and processes, Supplier performance management by maintaining required OTD and quality level.
Represent Crane Co. businesses in supplier quality processes in India
Ensure the required level of quality for material supply from Indian suppliers
Develop, lead, and implement supplier qualification efforts including conducting supplier assessments, auditing supplier quality systems and process controls, and part specific qualification requirements.
Sample and tooling approval along with process approval in development of parts. This qualification should be in line with site expectation.
Coordinate in development of items with supplier and BU from getting development plan to shipment of parts as per required agreed quality & lead time.
Respond quickly and effectively to any supplier fulfilment issues such as quality or delivery, with corrective actions developed, implemented, and verified
Measure and work with suppliers on continuous improvement activities.
Monitor supplier delivery schedules and maintain on-time delivery
The success of this position will be based on the following metrics:
Quality performance of products sourced in India
Effective handling of Component development cycle
Coordination with supplier and BU for all technical issues
On time delivery performance of products being purchased in India
Year over year improvement in quality and delivery performance
QUALIFICATIONS/
EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical/Production/ Aerospace / Mechatronics
7 to 12 years Industrial work experience required. Experience in Aerospace domain preferred
Experience in Surface coating and heat treatment in Aerospace domain will be added advantage.
