Supply Chain Manager – Galway
Our client is a developer of minimally invasive medical devices and is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join their team. Reporting to the VP of Operations, this is a key Leadership role responsible for the end-to-end management of materials across supply chain, from supplier receipt through production issuance and Delivery of Finished goods.
In this role you will:
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Manage and maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials and components to support uninterrupted production schedules.
- Develop and oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of all materials, ensuring correct labelling, segregation, and storage conditions are always maintained.
- Manage stock levels across internal and external storage locations.
- Monitor reorder quantities, shelf life, and expiry dates to prevent stock-outs or obsolescence.
Planning & Operations
- Interact with demand plan to schedule production activities with Operations team
- Coordinate closely with Production Planning and Scheduling to align materials availability with production demand. Align materials availability with production demand by coordinating planning and scheduling end-to-end activities.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance on receiving inspection planning and scheduling to ensure compliant and timely material release.
- Issue and manage purchase orders for materials and components in accordance with approved supplier agreements.
- Lead the implementation and management of the ERP system, ensuring accuracy of supply chain master data and leveraging analytics to drive informed decision-making.
- Participate in S&OP process with commercial team and other stakeholders, ensuring level loaded production planning.
- Ensure critical KPI’s such as OTIF & Supplier performance are achieved and exceeded.
Supplier Management
- Manage relationships with designated suppliers, acting as the primary point of contact for day-to-day materials supply.
- Responsible for Supplier development, pricing and service level agreements.
- Monitor and report on supplier delivery performance, escalating issues promptly and drive resolution.
- Lead planning and forecasting activities with suppliers to ensure supply continuity and demand alignment.
- In partnership with quality, manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), facilitating root cause analysis and timely closure.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks.
People Management
- Directly manage and develop the supply chain team as it scales its operations, providing clear direction, support, and performance oversight.
- Build the necessary relationships with key stakeholders such as Customers, Commercial teams and Operations teams.
Ideally you will have:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a materials, supply chain, or inventory management role, with at least 2 years at supervisory or management level.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment; medical device or pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with ERP systems and SIOP processes.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 or other relevant quality management systems is a distinct advantage.
