We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join our team at CMT Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards are met throughout our manufacturing processes. Your expertise will play a crucial role in maintaining our AS-9100 Certified Quality Management System and supporting our mission to deliver exceptional aerospace components.
Job Description
Job Title: Quality Engineer / Quality Planner
Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager
Summary:
Creates AS9102 First Article Inspection forms and supporting document package for FAI and FTB (First Time Build) Part Numbers and submit to customers.
Performs and submits DELTA FAI document for repeat or revised items.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Create AS9102 First Article Forms and supporting documents.
2. Create Bubbled Drawings for FAI using CAD files or 2D Drawings.
3. Review and extract all relevant dimensions and information from Job Orders and populate into AS9102 Form packages.
4. Submit FAI’s through customer online portal such as NET INSPECT.
5. Review Customer Specifications for CMT compliance with all relevant requirements.
6. Support continued compliance with AS9100D/ISO9001:2015 guidelines, assist in answering corrective actions.
7. Provide and/or coordinate required technical support for all critical manufacturing processes in facility.
8. Review and approve customer document packages for shipment.
9. Provide the highest level of internal and external customer service.
Other Associated Responsibilities:
1. Assist with coordination of production and materials functions, as well as customer service and support processes.
2. Provide process improvement know-how, methods, and conceptual expertise to teams.
3. Perform CMM Inspection as a back up to primary CMM staff.
4. Investigate customer nonconformance reports, assist in root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective action responses.
5. Assist in audit of QMS documentation, and Nadcap approved processes.
Position Requirements:
1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in aerospace / defense machining or sheet metal manufacturing quality assurance / Detail Inspection.
2. Associate’s degree in engineering from an accredited college, technical institute, or equivalent experience (preferred but not required)
3. Detailed knowledge of machining, sheet metal fabrication, or related manufacturing operations.
4. Effective working knowledge of Aircraft Blueprints and Bills of Materials.
5. Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection forms.
6. Working knowledge of process specifications related to heat treating, processing, sealing, and painting.
7. Basic CAD / CAM Skills.
8. Microsoft Excel proficiency.
9. Demonstrated reliability and attention to detail is essential.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
Schedule:
10 hour shift
