Job Title: Quality Manager – Contract to Hire Consultant

Position Overview:
Third Party International (TPI) is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join our team as a contract-to-hire consultant for an aerospace supplier based in Pine City, Mn. This role requires extensive knowledge in programming Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and experience in developing standard work processes with both internal teams and external suppliers. The successful candidate will have a strong background in quality management.
Responsibilities
Establishing component control plans with supplier development engineers.
Coordinate closely with manufacturing, supplier development engineers, design engineers, inspectors, and suppliers regarding inspection strategy, GD&T, and control plans.
Assist with recovery efforts on key supplier delivery issues, establishing governance and reporting,
conducting deep dives into constraints, and guiding suppliers with corrective actions.
Manage inspection team on site
Quickly learn supplier procedures and implement solutions by utilizing soft skills/relationship building.
Initiate new vendor quality management, including evaluating process capability, tracking delivery, output, and reporting of supplier performance.
Create and manage implementation of strategic projects including project plans, overall tracking capability, reporting of progress within team and up through leadership.
Work collaboratively across the organization to develop and implement systemic solutions to resolve chronic business performance issues.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years experience with component inspection and advanced metrology
equipment, GD&T, CMM (Zeiss Calypso required, Hexagon PC-DMIS nice to have), and creating
component control plans.
Experience with component manufacturing/machining preferred, not required.
4-year college degree preferred, not required
Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices.
Must have advanced computer skills and be able to understand of electronic processing.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all
internal and external contacts.
Must be an innovator and embrace lean enterprises principles and practices.
Experience with castings / forgings, knowledge of special processes (anodize, nitride, flat lapping, paint, e-coating, plating, etc), and experience with first article inspection and PPAPs.
3D solid modeling
Proven experience with managing multiple deadlines with competing customer priorities.
Ability to read drawings, interpret dimensioning schemes and GD&T, and counsel design engineers working for customers with drawing revisions
Strong computer skills, organization, relational.
Experience with AS9100.
Change agent/transformational management
