High Street Consulting (HSC) seeks an experienced technical writer/editor to support the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) internal review of materials for training development projects prior to client delivery. Ideal candidates are versatile and responsive, and leverage technology to their advantage. This position operates in a fully remote capacity, utilizing MS Teams, SharePoint, and email for communications.
Position Duties:
Assist in maintaining and applying a training development team’s Quality Control Plan, ensuring consistent application of quality requirements for all curriculum and course product deliverables
Perform QA/QC reviews of curriculum and course products at each deliverable milestone. Product types include MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF documents. Reviews include adherence to template requirements and additional formatting standards, clarity of writing, correct spelling and grammar, and accessibility reviews for Section 508 compliance
Provide actionable feedback to Instructional Designers following QA/QC reviews to ensure continuous improvement as they develop training materials according to high quality standards
Work both independently and in a team environment with adherence to strict deadlines
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail
Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary development team under strict deadlines
Strong communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Demonstrated desire to seek continuous improvement and demonstrated attitude and aptitude to learn quickly and overcome challenges
Demonstrated professionalism and sound judgment while navigating a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements
Proficiency in software programs including MS Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Proficiency in accessibility reviews and remediation for Section 508 compliance
Education and Experience Requirements:
BA/BS degree from an accredited institution. Masters preferred. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience, which may be reduced/substituted with a post-graduate degree.
Expected Level of Effort:
This is a full-time contract position for a one-year period of performance with the option to renew.
Base Pay Range:
$35 – $50 per hour
