Summary: • The QA Program and Testing Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and maintaining accurate quality assurance documentation, coordinating laboratory testing, and ensuring compliance with food safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in a bakery environment. This role plays a critical part in supporting continuous improvement initiatives and upholding product integrity. • The QA Program and Testing Coordinator verifies all site-specific documentation related to food safety and quality and ensures compliance with regulatory and company record retention requirements. Responsibilities: Documentation Management: • Maintain and update QA documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and Quality Manuals. • Ensure proper documentation of production records, ingredient specifications, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs). • Manage records related to product testing, calibration, sanitation, and quality audits. • Organize and ensure accurate archiving of quality documents for easy retrieval during audits or inspections. Regulatory Compliance: • Ensure adherence to FDA, FSMA, and other applicable regulations. • Maintain records for compliance with HACCP, SQF, and other quality certification programs. • Stay informed on regulatory changes and update processes accordingly. Daily Responsibilities: • Verification of QCP’s and internal site-specific documentation • Track QCP completion percentage in the QCP Tracker • Send daily update email to Shift Leaders and the Management Team with QCP completion percentage • Review production schedule for the day and notify quality technicians if there will be additional checks required on their shift (example: BBQ Bread, Trident) • Communicate customer complaints to Shift Leads and update the Quality Communication Board with recent complaints • Oversight of the environmental monitoring program (samples, documentation, results trending) • Organize and maintain all quality and food safety records as required. • Communication to other departments of quality issues identified on the shifts through QA alert sent by email to plant managers and shift leads • Assist with foreign material investigations and reports and keeping hold logs up to date • Coordinate and keep sample collection, retention, and Shelf-life test. Records and logs up to date.
Provide a weekly internal swab (ATP, allergens; etc) Report • Moisture and pH tests as required the procedure and as needed • Coordinate ATP sampling completion with quality technicians • Coordinate weekly allergen swab completion with quality technicians Other Responsibilities: • Assist with quality technician training and development • Assist with all external audits at the facility • Revise quality site-specific documents as needed • Oversight of quality supplies and inventories • Oversight of non-conforming product holds program • Oversight of all non-conforming product hold communication via notification email to shift leaders and the management team • Oversight and coordination of all non-conforming product hold testing and analysis to ensure product holds are dispositioned in a timely manner. • Coordinate monthly glass and brittle plastics inspections • Oversight of the environmental monitoring program which includes completing monthly and vector swabs, sample preparation, lab submission, results verification, and trending. • Coordinate the completion of quarterly allergen swabs on all production lines • Communicate out-of-specification results to Shift Leaders and appropriate members of the management team • Assist with first production and trial runs at the facility • Coordinate all customer requested samples with production and quality technicians • Complete quarterly air sampling testing as required • Assist with monthly quality council and food safety team meetings as required • Assist with all mock recalls, traceability exercises, and mock crisis exercises as required • Assist with internal audits of food safety programs at the facility cross-functionally, with other departments (example: PM Program Review, MSS Annual Review, Calibration Program Review, etc.) • Any other task assigned by the Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager (FSQA) Verification: • The QA Program and Testing Coordinator assists with providing verification of quality and food safety tasks across all departments at the bakery. Training: • The QA Program and Testing Coordinator must complete the following certifications: o Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) o Internal Auditing o ATP Certification o HACCP Certification
