Position: Quality Assurance Engineer
Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Engineer is essential for maintaining the quality and functionality of software applications within our company. This role encompasses the design and execution of tests aimed at uncovering software discrepancies, performance bottlenecks, and various system issues prior to product deployment. The QA Engineer is a key player in the software development process, promoting teamwork between developers and stakeholders to ensure all specifications are achieved. They leverage both manual and automated testing techniques to assess system integrity and dependability. Through the development of detailed test plans and thorough analysis of results, Quality Assurance Engineers aid in delivering an optimal user experience while reducing post-launch complications. Their evaluations and recommendations support development teams in refining their workflows and boosting software quality. Primary Duties
Craft, implement, and manage testing strategies and test scenarios.
Execute both manual and automated tests on multiple platforms.
Identify, log, and monitor software bugs utilizing issue tracking systems.
Conduct regression tests to ensure previously functioning features remain intact.
Evaluate and interpret system specifications for thorough testing coverage.
Work in conjunction with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Engage in code assessments and design discussions to enhance testability.
Develop and uphold testing frameworks and automation tools.
Create detailed and organized testing documentation.
Assess software performance and carry out stress testing.
Keep abreast of the latest trends and best practices in software testing.
Offer constructive feedback regarding product usability and dependability.
Pinpoint opportunities for enhancing testing methodologies.
Support and mentor junior members of the testing team.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define testing goals and criteria.
Essential Qualifications
A degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
A minimum of 2 years in software testing is preferred.
Experience with automated testing solutions (Selenium, QTP, etc.).
Comprehensive knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Proficient in bug tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.).
Experience in scripting languages (Python, Java, etc.).
Solid grasp of testing for web, mobile, and APIs.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong focus on details and dedication to quality.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work effectively within a team environment.
Familiarity with performance testing utilities (JMeter, LoadRunner, etc.) is advantageous.
Professional certifications such as ISTQB or equivalent are advantageous.
Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
A genuine interest in technology and ongoing learning.
