PsyGenics, Inc., a rapidly growing service provider specializing in serving the developmentally disabled is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Quality Specialist.
Qualifications
Must possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in social or behavioral health. Person must have police and DHS clearance. Must have a minimum of one-year experience in quality, including but not limited to auditing, monitoring, reporting, etc., preferably in community mental health or managed care setting. Additional requirements include: strong interpersonal skills; establishing rapport and ability to develop relationships with team members and external stakeholders; demonstrated written and verbal skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand; strong organizational and time management skills as well as multitasking abilities; ability to perform in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment; ability to effectively prioritize and organize one’s own work to meet deadlines; high level of confidence, professionalism and proactive decision-making skills; demonstrated Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and a willingness to be flexible, patient and creative. Preference for candidates with CARF experience as well as licensure in the State of Michigan in good standing and ability to achieve the criteria for a Children’s Mental Health Specialist, Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional and Qualified Mental Health Professional within 60 days of hire.
Position Summary
The Quality Specialist is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and educating the PsyGenics team to meet contract standards and ensure high quality services are delivered to our members by trained and competent staff. The position also requires providing education and coaching to PsyGenics team members regarding performance expectations for service provision and delivery, safety standards and other training related to best practice.
Specific Responsibilities
Perform and document quarterly and annual audits as directed by funding source to ensure ongoing conformance to required standards and identification of areas for performance improvement.
Includes but is not limited to chart reviews, Medicaid claims, Adverse Benefit Determination audits, program specific reviews, electronic data validation reviews, etc.
Synthesize data from auditing activities into reports for leadership and the Quality Improvement Committee.
Ensure readiness for regular site reviews by funder including but not limited to Customer Service, Recipient Rights, and Quality teams.
Complete and submit corrective action plans if required
Coordinate with PsyGenics Medical Director to ensure completion of Physician Peer Reviews monthly
Oversee incident report module, review incident reports, and report on incidents monthly
Review critical and sentinel events and send to case managers and supervisors at least monthly
Assist with root cause analysis completion
Track and trend critical events, sentinel events and root cause analyses
Conduct the Safety Committee Meeting monthly
Monitor Performance Indicators 2, 3, 4, and 10 and coordinate with leadership and funder as needed for follow up
Train staff on quality assurance, health and safety, and HIPAA/Privacy standards as needed
Conduct analysis and develop quality-related reports for leadership including data analysis on all auditing, monitoring, and related quality activities
Participate in monthly PsyGenics Quality Improvement Committee and annual review of the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Plan
Attend meetings with our funder including but not limited to monthly Quality Operations Meeting, Performance Indicator workgroup, Customer Service Meeting
Assists in ongoing accreditation activities for CARF compliance
Follow PsyGenics, Inc. professional code of conduct
Represent PsyGenics, Inc. in the community
Maintain all required licenses and credentials
Perform similar or related duties as assigned
