Role Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and delivery-focused Test Manager / Test Coordinator to support a large-scale Financial Reporting Transformation program within a highly regulated banking environment.
This is not a traditional Test Manager role with direct ownership of testers or test execution teams. Instead, this role serves as the central coordination, governance, reporting, and quality management function across multiple business, technology, consulting, and vendor teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring testing activities are planned, governed, tracked, reported, and audit-ready across multiple concurrent initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of testing processes, defect management, traceability, audit controls, and executive communication.
Success in this role requires the ability to influence delivery teams, enforce testing standards, drive defect resolution, and provide clear quality reporting without necessarily being the functional SME for every application under test.
Key Responsibilities
Test Governance & Coordination
- Own end-to-end test governance across multiple reporting and transformation initiatives
- Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans, test schedules, and test reporting artifacts
- Coordinate testing activities across business, technology, consulting, and vendor teams
- Ensure testing standards, SDLC controls, and audit requirements are consistently applied
- Drive adherence to testing processes and quality standards across all participating teams
Jira & Zephyr Oversight
- Act as the primary owner of testing governance within Jira and Zephyr
- Audit test artifacts to ensure compliance with quality and traceability standards
- Verify test cases, execution evidence, defect documentation, and linkage requirements
- Ensure proper requirement-to-test-case traceability and test execution completeness
- Review testing artifacts for audit readiness and regulatory compliance
Defect Management & Triage
- Lead defect triage meetings from initiation through closure
- Drive defect prioritization and disposition discussions with business and technology stakeholders
- Ensure accurate severity, priority, ownership, and remediation planning
- Monitor defect aging, trends, and release readiness impacts
- Escalate risks and unresolved issues appropriately
Executive Reporting & Communication
- Prepare and deliver testing status reports, dashboards, metrics, and executive summaries
- Communicate testing progress, risks, quality concerns, and release readiness to leadership
- Provide clear go/no-go recommendations based on testing results and outstanding risks
- Support executive and audit reviews with testing evidence and quality metrics
Cross-Team Coordination
- Act as the central point of coordination across multiple concurrent projects and delivery teams
- Facilitate communication between Product Owners, Business SMEs, Technology Teams, Consultants, and Vendors
- Resolve delivery obstacles, testing dependencies, and competing priorities
- Drive alignment across multiple workstreams and testing phases
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software testing and quality assurance experience
- 5+ years in Test Management, Test Coordination, QA Governance, or Senior Test Lead roles
- Proven experience coordinating testing activities across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Strong hands-on experience with Jira and Zephyr
- Extensive experience leading defect triage and defect governance processes
- Experience producing executive-level testing reports, dashboards, and quality metrics
- Experience operating within highly regulated or audit-driven environments
- Strong understanding of SDLC, traceability, testing controls, and release governance
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
