Job Vacancy:
Validation Engineer
The purpose of this role is to develop and execute product validation strategies, methodologies and test plans to ensure that Conlog’s products comply with applicable regulatory, industry and customer standards. The successful candidate will validate new product developments, enhancements and software releases, identify product risks, and work closely with engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-quality products.
Duties & Responsibilities
Product Validation & Testing
- Develop and maintain product validation strategies, methodologies, test plans, test procedures and automated test frameworks.
- Design, develop and execute comprehensive test cases based on functional requirements, product specifications and applicable industry standards.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system and performance testing for new product developments, enhancements and defect fixes.
- Conduct both manual and automated regression testing where appropriate.
- Validate products against internal specifications, customer requirements and relevant regulatory standards.
- Verify that product designs are reliable, repeatable and fit for purpose before release.
- Generate comprehensive validation reports documenting testing methodologies, results, defects and recommendations.
Product Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Investigate product defects, customer-reported issues and investigation change requests (ICRs), providing technical analysis and recommendations.
- Participate in defect review sessions and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues effectively.
- Identify validation risks and recommend mitigation strategies throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Continuously improve validation processes, testing methodologies and automation opportunities to enhance product quality and testing efficiency.
- Ensure all validation documentation is maintained in accordance with quality management requirements.
Project & Engineering Support
- Provide technical validation input during project planning, including effort estimates, schedules and risks.
- Participate in engineering planning, design reviews and project core team meetings to provide validation feedback throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities where required.
- Monitor validation activities against agreed project plans and provide regular progress updates to management.
- Collaborate closely with Product Development, Software Engineering and Hardware Engineering, teams to ensure successful product delivery.
Regulatory Compliance & External Certification
- Ensure products comply with all applicable regulatory, customer and industry standards.
- Liaise with external testing authorities and certification bodies and including STS to obtain and maintain product approvals.
- Support compliance testing and certification activities for new and existing products.
Leadership & Knowledge Sharing
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, graduates and students on validation best practices.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and quality within the technology team.
- Share technical knowledge and contribute to the ongoing development of validation standards and processes.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a product validation, test engineering or product development environment.
