General Description
Inspect the work of electrical assemblers, verifying the wiring and panel component layout based upon the drawing revision used by the assembler. The test technician will verify that all wiring and components used matches that called for by the customer and is installed with minimal defects. The test technician will follow established procedures for inspection, depending on customer requirements.
Test technicians will also be required to generate labeling for use in identification and traceability, and to compile job documentation for all products before shipment.
The Test Technician ‘A’ will be asked from time to time to assist in training or otherwise help other Quality Control employees, and show leadership in the areas of work performance, quality, and attitude.
Essential job functions
– Following procedures, verify that finished products match customer requirements as defined by drawings and work instructions provided by the Engineering Department
– Troubleshoot defective or incorrectly assembled control panels using any tools or methods necessary
– Understand and be able to read schematics and drawings of all types.
– Report nonconforming material using established Quality Procedures.
– Assist Engineering in communicating customer and regulatory requirements to Electrical Assembly employees
– Assure that finished products are capable of meeting customer requirements, and demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction
– Maintain working knowledge of applicable electrical standards such as NEMA, NEC, UL, IEC.
– Must have ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
