The ECE Quality & Development Manager will serve as an embedded instructional and cultural leader across 9 early childhood schools in the Sacramento region. This hands-on role emphasizes daily presence within schools to coach, model, and develop teams. Every tenth day, the Manager will collaborate with the Regional Director to review insights, accomplishments, and next steps to accelerate transformation efforts.

The ECE Manager will actively participate in moving the health, safety, licensing, curb appeal, facilities, and educational outcomes towards Spring standards. They will also be charged with employee development surrounding customer service and quality curriculum implementation.

The ECE Manager will work side by side with our teachers and leadership team. We expect that the ECE Manager will role model behaviors and shadow leaders and teachers daily to ensure we fulfill our enrollment promises to every child and family.

Educational Program:

Partners with school leadership to co-create and drive a 3-year instructional and cultural vision rooted in NAEYC best practices and Spring standards.
Well-versed in NAEYC criteria and ensures schools are in full compliance at all times.
Maintains compliance with California state licensing requirements, federal regulations, and Spring’s internal policies and procedures.
Role models high-quality instructional practices with teachers and leaders to improve Links to Learning implementation.
Provides training and ongoing coaching to leaders and teachers on Links to Learning standards and expectations.
Reviews and discusses Quality Assurance Tools with school leadership teams bi-weekly to promote reflection and accountability.
Reviews lesson plans and provides timely feedback, ensuring instructional quality and alignment to curriculum goals.
Evaluates and documents the performance of all teaching staff with a focus on continuous growth.
Ensures that school environments are safe, clean, attractive, and developmentally appropriate for early learners.
Builds effective, collaborative relationships across the IK12 division and with Spring shared services partners.
Continuously models professionalism in communication, attire, demeanor, and instructional knowledge.
Maintains a high degree of personal professional development through coursework, workshops, and conferences.
Demonstrates a growth mindset and a desire for professional advancement within Spring.
Upholds integrity and confidentiality regarding company, student, family, and employee information.

Staff Management:

Recruits high-quality teachers, leaders, and staff who embody Spring’s culture and values.
Cultivates a coaching culture that emphasizes feedback, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.
Provides a clear, differentiated professional development plan aligned with Spring’s curriculum and quality standards.
Leads, supervises, and evaluates both exempt and non-exempt staff including certified teachers, assistants, substitutes, and support roles (drivers, cooks, janitors, etc.).
Ensures all staff operate in full compliance with Spring policies and applicable state/local requirements.
Observes classroom instructional practices and provides developmental feedback to support individual teacher growth.
Creates opportunities for team interaction to build trust, increase morale, and foster a collaborative workplace culture.
Demonstrates the importance of regular documentation, feedback, and coaching conversations in addition to annual reviews.
Provides timely corrective action and supports staff through improvement processes when needed.
Applies a lens of equity and inclusion in hiring, coaching, and team development practices.

Marketing and Enrollment:

Collaborates with the IK12 enrollment team to support site-level growth and retention goals.
Follows Customer Engaged Admissions (CEA) practices and engages in ongoing training to enhance the enrollment experience.
Ensures program quality and school presentation reinforce Spring’s brand and value to families.
Maintains positive, responsive communication with current and prospective families.
Supports central marketing initiatives through local engagement and feedback

Essential Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Educational Leadership, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education, including 3+ years in a leadership or coaching capacity across multi-site programs.
Strong working knowledge of:
NAEYC standards
California state licensing regulations
Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP)
Structured curriculum implementation (e.g., Links to Learning)
Demonstrated ability to coach educators, model instructional strategies, and lead continuous improvement efforts.
Skilled in managing and supporting licensing, health & safety, and operational compliance across sites.
Strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills; able to build productive relationships with staff and families.
Comfortable using technology for communication, training, and documentation (Microsoft Office, CRM systems, digital curriculum tools).
Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and make informed decisions in complex, real-time situations.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; able to travel daily between school sites in the Sacramento region.
