Job Description:
We are seeking a Thread Roller Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain thread rolling machines in the production of precision aerospace fasteners. This role requires a commitment to quality, strict adherence to AS9100 standards, and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain machinery to ensure optimal performance and product integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up thread rolling machines with proper dies, tooling, and fixtures according to work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
Adjust machine parameters (speed, pressure, feed) to produce threads that meet precise aerospace standards.
Use precision measuring instruments, such as thread gauges, micrometers, and optical comparators, to inspect workpieces during the thread rolling process.
Troubleshoot machine issues, including die wear, material inconsistencies, and mechanical malfunctions.
Manage and maintain thread rolling tooling, performing routine sharpening, cleaning, and replacement as needed.
Load and handle raw materials (fastener blanks) safely and efficiently.
Complete accurate production records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.
Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Collaborate with production and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Thread Roller Machinist, preferably within the aerospace or fastener industry.
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Strong mechanical aptitude with a thorough understanding of thread rolling processes and tooling.
Experience using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues effectively.
Commitment to maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with aerospace fastener materials such as titanium, Inconel, and stainless steel.
Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards.
Previous experience in the aerospace manufacturing sector.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to manage and maintain production tooling.
Spanish language skills
Additional Information:
U.S. Citizenship is required due to defense contract obligations.
