Job Description
Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Department: Quality Control
Reports to: Quality Control Manager
Job Qualifications:
High school graduate
Knowledge in the use of micrometers, calipers, and scale; or ability to learn
Computer-oriented clerical skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Detail oriented
Strong people skills and committed to fostering good associate relations
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple, concurrent responsibilities, many needing immediate resolution
Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
First piece and in-process inspection of machine shop, assembly, and ropery jobs. Verify conformance of product to specifications.
Final audit of product before release to shipping or further processing.
Incoming inspection of purchase or customer provided product.
Notify Quality Control Manager or Team Leader of any discrepancies.
Monitor product for proper paperwork and identification.
Calibration of all in-house tooling/gauges, using master set gauges.
Destructive testing of assemblies and fittings when required on inspection paperwork.
This Quality Control position requires the following physical abilities: Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s).
Handling by seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hands.
Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
Knowledge that Continental Cable is an ISO/AS certified company and understands the Quality Policy.
Maintain a safe work environment at all times and follow all Continental Cable safety policies including safety glasses, work shoes, and all required personal protective equipment.
Perform all other duties as required.
